Trina Turk’s seventh retail location was inspired by the work of Morris Lapidus and mid-century Miami. Open in May 2010, the modernist architecture of the Bal Harbour Shops reflects Trina’s retro spirit and vintage-inspired sensibility. MR Architecture & Décor ably translated Trina Turk’s southern California beach aesthetic to its Miami counterpart, creating an accessible, unintimidating glamour with white accented by lime and teal tones. Curved soffit lighting, concrete block latticework, vintage metal sunbursts and aqua and white terrazzo tiles convey fresh, effortless chic and fun. There’s even a special “guy sitting area” so gals can shop worry-free. It should be no surprise that the Bal Harbour location is now the #1 Trina Turk swimwear store.
